    Amanda Eggert, Montana Free Press|Jan 4, 2023

An 11-year-old effort to manage crowding on one of Montana's most popular fisheries stalled out without resolution in late December when the Fish and Wildlife Commission decided not to advance regulatory changes on the Madison River. In lieu of pursuing a commission-directed rulemaking process, the commission expressed interest in putting the issue on the Environmental Quality Council's plate, a move that would effectively delay any regulatory changes by several years. Commissioner K.C. Walsh of... Full story

  • Column: Get me a cherry pie, I'll time you

    Jack H. Smith, Three Forks Voice|Jan 4, 2023

When I was a little kid, I sat down to eat a cup of tapioca pudding when someone told me it was made with fish eggs. Unfortunately, I still cannot enjoy tapioca because I’m afraid I’m eating caviar pudding. Looking back, I was told many things growing up that took me a while to figure out were not true. One of the ones that always stuck with me was swallowing gum. Every time I purchased gum as a chi... Full story
