    During her childhood, Teri Whitesitt remembers making trips with her grandmother to dig clay they would use for pottery projects. This would spark a love interest in pottery at an early age for Whitesitt who had a long-time dream of opening a pottery studio. Her dream became a reality in 2020 when she opened the Next of Kiln Studio in Three Forks.     Gallatin County Sheriff Brian Gootkin has been nominated by Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte to serve as the next director of the Montana Department of Corrections. He retired from his post as Gallatin County Sheriff on Thursday, Dec. 31. "I will miss serving the people of Gallatin County as Sheriff and our Sheriff's Office family," Gootkin said.
