    The Three Forks City Council approved last week a request by Susan Frost to open a daycare at 223 N Main Street. The location is zoned NHB - Neighborhood Highway Business - and previously daycares were only permitted in the R Residential District or RM Residential Medium Density District as a conditional use. The Zoning and Planning Board recommended an amendment to allow daycare facilities in both the NHB and CBD Central Business District and after hearing from the public the council readily passed the amendment.     Last Saturday was a tremendous day for the City of Three Forks with the unveiling of a bronzed memorial in Veteran's Park dedicated to the men and women of Japanese descent from Three Forks that served in the 442nd Regimental Combat Team during World War II.     The Three Forks High School Speech and Drama team competed at the state tournament this weekend in Big Fork, placing third in Speech. 30 Three Forks participants qualified for semi-finals and 22 placed individually at the tournament. Hannah Rummelhart and Alexis Welch won individual state championships on Saturday.     Prior to last week's home conference games against Boulder and Whitehall, Three Forks High School boys basketball coach Terry Hauser used a majority of his practice time to focus on the defensive end of the court. The extra time in practice paid dividends for the Wolves (12-2, 8-0 5B) who used two dominant defensive performances to pick up a 68-42 win over the Panthers and a 63-39 victory against the Trojans. The Wolves put a halt to a three-game losing streak with a 44-37 home win Friday over Boulder and a thrilling 58-54 double-overtime home victory Saturday over Whitehall.
