Broadwater County Sheriff Wynn Meehan is concerned with the growth in the Wheatland area near Three Forks. At the top of the list of concerns for Mehan is the lack of infrastructure. With Gallatin County still in Phase 1B of the Covid-19 vaccine distribution process, Health Officer Matt Kelley is asking some help from the community and pleads with them to not skip their place in line. "We need you to know that if you are in a group that is not currently eligible, please don't try to sign up for vaccination clinics. The Three Forks School Board will meet Wednesday, February 24, to select candidates for the new Superintendent of Schools. The staff and public interview process are scheduled for Monday, March 1, and Tuesday, March 2 (see photo) at a to-be-determined location. According to TFES Principal Steve Fanning, the plan is to provide an option during the staff and community forums for people to attend in person and remotely. As an essential business, the Chiropractic Clinic of Three Forks has been able to keep its doors open since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020. According to Office Manager Ranee Berg, in the early stages of the pandemic, not many people were going anywhere but they eventually saw an uptrend. It looks like Three Forks High School students may have the possibility of going to prom in 2021. Superintendent Jeff Elliott told the Three Forks School Board last week they have been looking at hosting an alternative prom outside the school. Elliot praised teacher Noelle Muske’s efforts, who he said has done a great job planning the event that would take place at the Sacajawea Hotel. Three Forks Elementary Principal Steve Fanning and High School Principal Greg Heys recently updated the School Board of Trustees on enrollment numbers. Fanning reported a total of 292 K-5 students onsite and another 40 through the online Acellus program. Heys reported onsite numbers of 186 at the middle school and 227 at the high school. The online numbers are 22 in the middle school and 58 at the high school. A trip to the movie theater as a kid was always a real treat. I can still remember walking through the doors and into the lobby, where the smell of popcorn greeted me almost as if it was saying welcome back, Jack. While it may have taken the Three Forks High School boys basketball team a little while to get the lead in Tuesday night's 5B District opening round home game against Big Timber, once they did, they never let their foot off the gas in a 57-40 home victory. On February 17, 2021 at approximately 11:45 p.m., officers with the Belgrade Police Department were dispatched to a residence in Belgrade for a report of a partner or family member assault. The suspect in the assault left the residence before officers arrived. A Gallatin County Sheriff's deputy located the vehicle parked at a gas station in Belgrade. For the fourth straight year, the Three Forks High School boys basketball team is headed to the Southern B Divisional Tournament in Billings. The Wolves qualified for the tournament with a 50-47 win Saturday at home over Big Timber to finish third in third place at the 5B District Tournament. It was the second straight elimination game win for the fourth-seeded Wolves, who knocked third-seeded Boulder out of the tournament Friday with a convincing 75-56 victory.
