The Montana Transportation Commission unanimously voted last Thursday to approve a staff recommendation on a design-build contract for a new rest area at Interstate 90 exit 274 in Broadwater County near Three Forks. Rodeo is back in Three Forks. After having the 2020 season canceled, action will return this weekend with the Three Forks High School Rodeo. The two-day event is scheduled to begin Saturday, May 1 at 9 a.m. at the Three Forks Rodeo Arena. The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to announce and invite the public to comment on a proposal to resurface about 15 miles of Montana Secondary Highway 205, northeast of Three Forks. The project begins on the north side of the Three Forks Interchange and extends east for about 15 miles ending on the eastside of the Gallatin River Bridge. Andy Becker, Project Manager for Hulteng CCM, reported the bids opened March 31 for the Three Forks School building addition and renovation project, and they came in under their target budget. Anglers need to be aware of a new fishing regulation change for walleye on the Missouri River from Toston through Canyon Ferry and Hauser Reservoir. The new regulation went into effect April 1 and are limits for walleye of 10 daily, only one over 15 inches. Possession limit is twice the daily limit.
