  • NWS issues flood warning on Gallatin

    High waters and flooding are currently impacting several areas in southwest Montana leading to evacuations and unsafe conditions. With ongoing snowmelt with rainfall over the Gallatin and Madison Mountains, the National Weather Service issued a flood warning for the Gallatin River including near Logan. The "moderate risk" warning was issued from the evening of June 12 until Thursday, June 16.   • Three Forks Schools offering free meals

    The Three Forks Schools are once again serving free meals this summer. The food will be prepared and served Monday to Friday at the food trailer located near the football stadium concession stand. Breakfast will be available from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Food insecurity is an income issue, and poverty is one of the strongest predictors of food insecurity. 1 in 7 Gallatin County residents live below the federal poverty level.   • Headwaters heritage museum celebrates 40th anniversary at current location, new updates

    Both the Headwaters Heritage Museum and the Railroad and Trident Heritage Center will receive some long-awaited updates and installments this summer, according to Three Forks Area Historical Society President Pat Townsend.   • Local voters approve marijuana excise tax

    Residents of Gallatin Valley voted last week to approve a 3% local-option excise tax for both medical and non-medical marijuana and marijuana products. In results from the Gallatin County Election Department, the non-medical excise tax passed by a vote of 13,803 to 10,643. 77.49% of the voters were in favor of the excise tax for non-medical marijuana and products. 19,062 Gallatin County voted for the tax, and 5,5537 voted no.
