  • Steam Engine arrives in Three Forks

    An eight-year project came to fruition last week as the "Trident Steam Engine" was delivered to its new home on the tracks on the east side of the Railroad and Trident Heritage Center in Three Forks. Shortly after the arrival of the steam engine from Nevada City, an emotional Pat Townsend of the Three Forks Historical Society said it had been eight long years to get to this moment, but it was finally here.   • Wolves open season with dominant victory

    It was a phenomenal start to the season for the Three Forks High School football team who picked up a 36-12 road win last Friday over Deer Lodge. Now in his second year with the program, Head Coach Connor Sullivan said it was great to see the Wolves get the victory. "The kids are a year older and we're still a young team. They had the right mindset going into the game. Our main focus was to compete and compete with great effort. If we do that, everything else will fall into place," he said.   • Strong start to season for Three Forks Cross Country

    The Three Forks High School cross country team started strong at their season opening meet last Saturday in Manhattan. Head Coach Tara Forsberg said the team did an excellent job and they had some great times, especially from the boys' team. Leading the way for the Wolves was Garret Golding who finished fifth with a time of 19:02.1. Bryon Fanning was 10th with a time of 19.18.3, and Beau Johnston was 11th finishing the race at 19:21.3.     While the Three Forks High School volleyball team may have lost their only match last week 25-10, 25-11, 25-14 on the road at Jefferson, Head Coach Tracy Welter saw plenty of positives from the first foray into 5B District Play.   • Gallatin County providing multiple ballot locations

    The Gallatin County Election Department will provide multiple locations for dropping off ballots for the 2020 general election. Ballots will be mailed to active registered voters on Friday, Oct. 9. Beginning that day, the following locations will function as places of deposit for ballots during their regular business hours through Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 3.     Now is the time to be counted in the 2020 Census. Data collection is scheduled to end on September 30 and the Census Bureau is encouraging all Montanans to respond today.
