    Three Forks High School students and teachers have partnered with Montana State University for a Safe Water Drinking Project. According to Three Forks science teacher Steven Hamilton, the purpose of the project is to test private wells in and around the school district (which includes parts of Gallatin, Broadwater, Jefferson, and Madison Counties) that aren't connected to municipal waters systems because they're well-regulated and regularly tested.     The Montana Fish, Parks, & Wildlife Commission approved earlier this month permanent "Hoot Owl" Restrictions on the lower Madison River. Proposal 31 was part of the 2020 Fishing Regulations. The restrictions from the Warm Springs Day Use Area to the confluence of the Jefferson River will be in effect July 15 through August 15 from 2 p.m. to midnight.     There is a new daycare facility in Three Forks. Grandma's Drop Zone opened for business on October 15 and is located in the basement of the Three Forks Community Library at 607 S. Main. Owner Tracy Colsch moved to Three Forks in March and in August found out her grandson's daycare in town was closing. She then decided to spring into action and open the facility.     Ballots have been mailed for the 2019 Municipal General Election in Three Forks. Four candidates will be vying for three open seats on the Three Forks City Council.     The Three Forks High School cross country team finished their season on a high note at last week's State Meet at the Eagle Falls Golf Course in Great Falls. Head Coach Tara Forsberg said the top five boys ran really well for the Wolves who finished 12th out of 26 scoring teams.
