After a social media post made last week by a former Three Forks student was flagged by the FBI, an investigation by the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office found it was not a credible threat to district staff or students. Three Forks Superintendent Rhonda Uthlaut said after they were notified, the district worked closely with law enforcement officials and it was determined there is no threat to the public. The root cause of Montana's increasingly stifling housing market? Too few homes to go around, a researcher told a legislative committee studying the state's economic condition Monday. "There is by any metric an enormous housing shortage in this state," Alex Horowitz of Pew Charitable Trusts said in a presentation to the Legislature's Financial Modernization & Risk Analysis Study committee. With strong finishes the past two seasons at the State meet, the Three Forks High School Cross Country team has established itself as one of the premier programs in Class B. The boys team ended the year the 2021 season with a second-place finish at the State Meet in Missoula, while the girls team finished fifth. It was a tremendous opening game of the season for the Three Forks High School girls basketball team as a solid defensive effort led the way in a 35-26 win over perennial Class B power Fairfield. Leading 15-12 at halftime at the game played at a tournament in Shelby, the Wolves would outscore the Eagles 15-7 in the third on their way to the impressive victory. It's so far, so good for the Three Forks High School boys basketball team. Opening their season at a tournament in Shelby, the Wolves picked up a 72-69 win last Friday over Fairfield and a 59-46 victory Saturday over Malta. 16 – 2021 On December 5, 2021, Robert H. Young, 70, died of natural causes leaving a close circle of very valued and beloved friends in Livingston, as well as family, all of whom will always remember his very kind and gentle and very quiet nature. He will be greatly missed by anyone who knew him. Robert was born on July 14, 1951, in Bozeman, Montana, the third of four children born to Ronald W. and Iola (Kutchinske) Young. Lee, 68, passed away November 29, 2021, from lung cancer. He was born and raised in Montana. Like a true Montanan the path he chose was not always the easy way but his way. Lee grew up in Three Forks where he was called to the woods and living life outdoors from an early age. He once hopped a train from Three Forks to Ringling and had to call his father to get him. It was a quiet ride home. He had a big heart for those less fortunate and often took meals prepared by his mother to hobo camps along the tracks. Lee was drawn to the hobos' stories... Full story
The Three Forks High School wrestling team is poised to take on some of the best competition in the state at this weekend's CMR Tournament in Great Falls. Three weeks into the season, Head Coach Nye Howey feels his team will be prepared for the competition against wrestlers from all four classes in the state.
