The Holy Family Altar Society is hosting a Spring Fundraiser later this month. A lasagna dinner is scheduled for Sunday, April 28, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Holy Family Social Hall, 104 E. Birch Street, Three Forks. The dinner is $10 for adults, $5 for children four to 12, and free for those under four. The cost for families is $40. The dinner includes lasagna, salad, green beans, rolls, and dessert. March ended with 19 emergency responses. Five transports to Bozeman Health Deaconess Regional Medical Center were aided by AMR paramedics due to needed pain management. TFAA EMTs did six more transports to BDRMC. TFAA did two standbys at fires to support Three Forks Volunteer Fire Department. The Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is hosting a public meeting to provide updates on a multi-year water quality study for the middle segment of the Gallatin River, from Yellowstone National Park to Spanish Creek. In 2023, DEQ determined the river should be listed as impaired for excessive algal growth. The impairment listing triggered a six-year study to culminate in total maximum daily loads (TMDL) development. The Headwaters Lager Festival is headed to Three Forks. Bridger Brewing announced last week that a one-of-a-kind celebration showcasing the finest lagers from across the Treasure State will take place on Saturday, June 1, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at their Three Forks location. Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park will host an event next month bringing together volunteers to repair trails and manage weeds at the park in connection with Earth Day. Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is seeking public comment on the environmental impacts of the proposed list of funding awards for the 2024 Trail Stewardship Program (TSP) grant cycle. The proposed list of recipients for 2024 includes an $87,000 grant to the City of Three Forks that would be used for the Headwaters Trail System. The recommended grant is for Trail Rehabilitation East of the Madison River Bridge. In 2022, the City of Three Forks received a $54,000 TSP grant for trail rehab. Registration is now open for Montana State University’s Peaks and Potentials, a weeklong camp for high-potential students entering grades 5-7 in the fall. The Three Forks School Board recently unanimously voted to rehire the district’s three Principals. It's once again time for the annual Rebekah Lodge St. Patrick's Day fundraiser. The annual event starts at 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 17, at the Lodge, 120 E. Date (across from the fire hall) in Three Forks. The dinner, which raises money for the local organization, costs $12 and includes a corned beef and cabbage dinner with a dinner roll and dessert.
