Not enough votes to appoint new council member

The Three Forks City Council did not have enough votes Tuesday to select a new member to the governing body.

In a blind ballot, three Council members voted to appoint Erin Schattauer to the council and one voted in favor of Steve Dahl. City Clerk/Deputy Treasurer Crystal Turner told the council they must have at least four votes to select the replacement for longtime council member Ed Tharp.

The council will vote again on the replacement at their next meeting in February.
