Lady Wolves headed to semifinals

Not only was the Three Forks High School girls basketball team able to pick up a win Thursday night in their opening game of the 5B District Tournament, they did so over a rival with a 45-33 victory over Manhattan.

The Lady Wolves will now advance to the semifinals of the tournament and will play top ranked and undefeated Townsend Friday at 3 p.m.

Kendall Lynn takes it to the basket Thursday night against Manhattan. She had nine points in the win.

Three Forks was sparked by a balanced scoring attack led by Breanna Bloch who had a game high 14 points. Kyle Olson added 13, Kendall Lynn had nine, Kinzee Howey added four, Paeton Ohs finished with three and Erin Welter added two points.

Both teams traded basket earlier in the first before an 8-0 Three Forks run to give them a 13-6 lead at the end of the quarter.

The Lady Wolves would extend the lead to as big as ten (21-11) in the second quarter sparked by two timely baskets from Bloch. The Lady Tigers would score the final four points of the quarter to cut the Three Forks lead to 21-15.

Three Forks would once again outscore Manhattan in the third sparked by key inside play from Bloch, and timely three-point shooting from Olson and Lynn whose shot at the buzzer gave the Lady Wolves a 33-25 lead going into the fourth quarter.
