Three Forks headed to consolation championship

 


The Three Forks High School girls basketball will play tonight for the Class B Consolation Championship and a chance to finish third at state.

The Lady Wolves defeated Columbus 43-36 Saturday morning to advance to the game where they will play Missoula-Loyola at 6 p.m. at the Belgrade Events Center.

It was a strong defensive performance for Three Forks who did not give up their first points of the game until under a minute left in the first quarter and took a 5-1 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Wolves would take a 16-13 lead into the half paced by a strong performance from Kendall Lynn who had nine points in the first two quarters.

Three Forks came out strong in the third quarter outscoring the Lady Cougars to take a 16-9 32-21 lead going into the fourth.

Kyle Olson led the team in scoring with 16, Kendall Lynn had 13, Paeton Ohs finished with eight, Breanna Bloch had two and Keaton Lynn added one.

With the victory, the Lady Wolves avenged two regular season losses to Columbus.
