Three Forks High School Rodeo next week

April 17, 2019

There will be plenty of great rodeo action next week in Three Forks.

The annual Three Forks High School and Junior High Rodeos are scheduled to take place Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28.

The event will start at 9 a.m. on April 27 and 8 a.m. on April 28. Christina Kamps of the Three Forks Rodeo Board said a "Cowboy Church Service" will also take place at 7:45 on Sunday. The two-day event is sanctioned by the Montana High School Rodeo Association.

The admission for each day is $5.

Kamps said there will be some great local vendors as well as food for sale provided by rodeo board member Gene Townsend that will include locally grown beef.

She added it would be a fun time for local residents to stop by to watch some rodeo, have a good lunch, and shop.

Events in the high school rodeo include bull riding, pole bending, goat tying, breakaway roping, team roping, steer wresting, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, tie down roping and barrel racing.

Junior high events include barrel racing, ribbon roping, boys and girls breakaway roping, chute dogging, saddle steer, tie down roping, boys and girls goat tying, pole bending bull riding and team roping.

Kamps said the event is also in need of volunteers, especially on Saturday where they will be running two rodeos and action will go until around 7 p.m. She said there will be a barbecue for volunteers on Saturday catered by Blue Smoke Barbecue.

For more information about volunteering, please call Kamps at 406-539-4488.
