Imerys Community Days event Saturday

The upcoming Imerys Talc Community Days event will serve as a chance to showcase the operation and educate the community about the business.

The event is scheduled to take place Saturday, June 22 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sappington Mill located at 28769 Sappington Road in Three Forks.

According to Operations Manager (Montana Mills) Mike Mulder, activities planned for the day include new bike raffles, a hazard hunt in work environment, safety word games and puzzles to qualify for a range of raffle items, mill tours, a bounce house, a huge inflatable slide, and lunch catered by Blue Moose BBQ.

Safety will also be a key component of the event.

"We place a tremendous emphasis on safety and our Community Day event will do the same. Kids are encouraged to bring their own bikes to ride our bike safety course), and Imerys will be giving away new bike helmets," Mulder said.

Loaner bikes will also be available if needed.

Mulder added Imerys recognizes that good relations with their neighbors is fundamental to long term success.

"We work to build long lasting relationships with local communities by making community outreach an integral part of planning, development, and operation of our business. Imerys aims to raise awareness, particularly among younger generations, not only about safety but also about talc as mineral, its many uses, and its rich history in Montana," he said.
