Local fans will get the opportunity to cheer on the Three Forks cross country team at this Saturday's Headwaters Invitational.

The invite is scheduled to take place October 5 starting at 10 a.m. at the Headwaters Public Golf Course in Three Forks and will include both high school and junior high runners.

Head Coach Tara Forsberg said everyone on the team should set a personal record as it is a fast, flat course.

In action last week, the team competed at the Mountain West Invite in Missoula. The huge meet featured around 500 runners in each race.

Forsberg said the team did well with all the runners having faster times than prior meets.

"And despite a gnarly head wind everyone enjoyed the race," she said.

Leading the way for the Three Forks boys in the varsity race was Jacob Ramsey with a time of 19:14.1. Garrett Golding had a finish of 20:29.7, and Wyatt Golding finished the race at 20:37.4. Others competing for Three Forks were Beau Johnston (21:30.2), Aden Lehr (21:55.4), Noah Hegar (23:21.5) and John Ward (26:39.5).

In the junior varsity race Jaron Berg had the top time for the Wolves at 21:14.6. Trace Hay finished at 22:57.0, Dean Buchholz had a time of 23:00.3 and Aiden Pfadt finished the race at 27:42.7.

In the girls varsity race, Hannah Wilson led the Lady Wolves with a time of 23:14.3. Mina Pachalova finished at 29:48.5, and Inna Pachalova finished the race at 31:29.8.
