Friends of the Library: A huge asset to Three Forks

January 8, 2020

Since their formation in 2009, the Friends of the Three Forks Library has made a huge difference for the local community including a recent donation of $500 to fund children's programs.

Above, Friends of the Library members Nancy O'Donnell and Jim Rochford present Fawn Venzor with a check for $500 to fund Children's Programs at the Three Forks Library.

The group was formed in 2009 by Nancy O'Donnell, MaryAnne Jegtvig, and Jim Rochford. According to O'Donnell, their first project was having a bike rack built and installed at the Three Forks Library located at 607 S. Main St.

"Since that first project they have also remodeled the ladies bathroom from the floor up including a baby changing station, done extensive landscaping, had a mural painted on the wall of the children's library by a local artist and numerous other projects," she said.

The group generates funds for the projects at their annual Book Sale/Bake Sale that takes place on the second weekend of October.

Those interested in joining can do so at any time of the year and dues are $5 a year for a single, and $10 a year for a family or business.

"It's a great way to support your local library," O'Donnell said.
