There was some great news at the start of 2020 for V-42 Fitness when they announced members now have 24-hour access to the facility located at 207 S. Main in Three Forks. There is also more positive news for the business owned by Sean and Kira Gifford with a future move to the "Henslee Auditorium" in the works for 2021.

According to Kira, it's so far so good for the 24-hour access. She said when they first started the business their hours were limited, and they were unable to offer hours on Sunday for their clients. Kira said they had several people tell them they commute to Bozeman every day and wished they could have opened before 5:30 a.m. With the change in hours, Kira has already seen the effects to the business and several new memberships.

Current members and those who join are given an RFID Tag to access the building with the door locking behind them.

"It's been really good. We've had several people coming in even before 5 a.m.," Kira said.

When the couple opened the business in July of 2016, they were unsure how it would go. Kira said they thought they had a great idea but did not know if everybody else would love it.

"It's been crazy, but it has been great. So far it has been a wonderful journey," she said.

Along with giving residents a local place to work out, V-42 Fitness also offers a sense of community.

Kira said she never expected some of the connections they have made and getting to know more of the community and to support them through medical and family issues has been awesome.

"Connections are made, friendships are formed, and it can be a support group for some," she said.

Being able to provide a space locally is of extreme importance to Sean and Kira.

"It is so great to be to offer people a place locally, so they don't have to commute," Kira said.

They have also seen customers who don't live in Three Forks but utilize the center after work. Kira said one customer teaches school locally and then drives home to Bozeman told her once she sat in the car for 30 minutes after work she was too exhausted to work out at her local facility.

V-42 Fitness also offers an area for kids with a television and toys.

"There are kids in and out of here every day while their parents get a workout in. It's been great. If we didn't have that a lot of people wouldn't be able to work out," Kira said.

Looking to the future, the plan is to renovate the old auditorium and move in there sometime next year. Kira said they often hear that people would like to have more group fitness classes, but they don't have the open space. She added this will not be an issue with the new location and it will also allow them to spread out their machinery and rent out the basement as a community facility.
