'Sac' Bar a hot spot for live music

February 12, 2020

An eclectic mix of live music options on the weekends has made the Sacajawea Bar a go-to destination for not only residents of the Gallatin Valley but for many visitors throughout the year.

Sacajawea Hotel General Manager Kay French said as a gathering place for the community, the live music is another opportunity to provide both locals and visitors to come together and enjoy grassroots Montana artists in a historically iconic and welcoming atmosphere.

"Supporting local artists and bands in their individual efforts to share their talents with others is a mission we seek to support and are proud to be a part of," she said.

Throughout the year there are various bands of all genres and backgrounds and according to French, this is a way to deliver on the community desire for variety. Rock, Country, Americana, and Folk are just a few of the types of music you can hear at the bar, and locals also have the opportunity to test their skills.

"We even let loose and open up the microphone to anyone who wishes to belt out their best singing voice or even rock the stage via our karaoke nights or special jam sessions," French said.

The bar located in the basement of the Sacajawea Hotel at 5 N. Main in Three Forks has booked many well-known artists and bands with big fan bases as well as several talented groups out to get their support.

"We cater to public demand and take into consideration that many of our guests attend with the intention not only to listen and sing along but come equip with their dancin' shoes on," she said.

Along with the very popular live music, French wants local residents and visitors to know the Sacajawea offers an assortment of entertainment and dining options, not just on the weekends, but throughout the week, during holidays, and for special occasions.

"The Sacajawea Bar provides a unique and matchless experience to those looking to enjoy a high-quality meal and lively conversation, all the while, providing a taste of what true Montana has to offer," she said. "Come on out and bring the friends and family to spend the evening, or better yet, the weekend with us! You won't be disappointed and can count on having a great time with all of us here in the last best place!"
