Generous donation allows for drug drop box in Three Forks

Thanks to the generosity of the Bozeman Elks, the City of Three Forks now has a drug drop box.

The box is located at City Hall at 206 N. Main and can be accessed Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 5 p.m.

The box provides an opportunity to safely and anonymously empty out medicine cabinets of drugs that have expired or are no longer needed, including over-the-counter drugs and prescription drugs that contain controlled substances. Residents can drop off any expired or unused pills, capsules, or patches and the DEA will incinerate them to dispose of them safely.

According to the Sheriff's Gallatin County Sheriff's Office, the DEA and partner organizations have set up sites in communities around the country where the public can bring unused, unwanted or expired prescription drugs for safe disposal, no questions asked and at no cost to them.
