Strong start to season for Three Forks Cross Country

The Three Forks High School cross country team started strong at their season opening meet last Saturday in Manhattan.

Head Coach Tara Forsberg said the team did an excellent job and they had some great times, especially from the boys' team.

Leading the way for the Wolves was Garret Golding who finished fifth with a time of 19:02.1. Bryon Fanning was 10th with a time of 19.18.3, and Beau Johnston was 11th finishing the race at 19:21.3.

Others competing for the boys were Gabe Hungerford (20:22.7), Anthony Deriana (20:25.3), and Jaron Berg (20:36.3).

Forsberg said the top female was Jayden Woodland who finished sixth with a time of 22:05.1.

"Jayden had a great race and is always looking for ways to improve and compete," Forsberg said.

Others competing for the girls were Kodee Kolberg (23:46.6), Ari Judd (24:50.1), Zandra Potts (25:09.1), Lily Jones (26:26.7), Rylee Dell (26:43.7), and Kinzee Howey (26:51.2).

The team will next compete when they host a meet Saturday at the Headwaters Golf Course starting at 10 a.m.

"Hosting our meet is fun and even with all of the new rules we are excited to get our team and other teams running. We are so proud of our team," Forsberg said.
