After having the 2020 season canceled, action will return this weekend with the Three Forks High School Rodeo. The two-day event is scheduled to begin Saturday, May 1 at 9 a.m. at the Three Forks Rodeo Arena. The action on Sunday, May 2, is slated to start at 8 a.m.

"We are thrilled to welcome people back to the arena and break in the new grandstands," said Rodeo Board Secretary Christina Kamps. "The High School Rodeo isn't a huge spectator event, so there will be plenty of room for people to space out as they feel comfortable."

According to Kamps, the rodeo is actually run as two 1-day rodeos. As of last week, organizers had received 200 high school entries (about 90 contestants) each day and 160 junior high entries (about 60 contestants).

The events in 2021 are Bareback, Barrel Racing, Breakaway, Bull Riding, Goat Tying, Pole Bending, Saddle Bronc, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping and Tie Down.

Admission is $5 each day.
