City Council votes to Cancel Mayoral Election

The Three Forks City Council voted last week to approve a resolution to cancel the November contests for Mayor and an unexpired Council Seat.

With the approval of the resolution, Randy Johnston will become the new Mayor in January with a term through 2025.

Current Councilmember Nancy Todd will remain in her seat in a term that expires on December 31, 2023.

An election for three four-year terms on the Council will remain on the ballot.

Incumbents Gene Townsend and George Chancellor were joined in filing in June by Alex Blackburn and Brooke McLees.

Todd was appointed earlier this year to replace former Councilmember Erin Schattauer.
