Pre-Thanksgiving food giveaway highlights generous nature of local community

Just before Thanksgiving, the genuine caring nature of the local community was on display in Three Forks.

Members of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Bozeman and Belgrade, students and parents from Mt. Ellis Elementary School, and other volunteers came together at the Three Forks Senior Center to hand out food bags, potatoes, magazines, and gas vouchers to area residents.

According to Madalina Goia, the Three Forks Outreach Project was part of a project sponsored by the Montana Seventh-Day Adventist Church. They were able to obtain a $4,000 grant to help people during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Just prior to the event, Goia was hopeful for a great turnout and praised the volunteers who took the time to give back to those in need.

"We are excited to be here, and I'm glad to be part of this," she said.

With the food being given away just before Thanksgiving, Goia was elated with the timing.

"I think words cannot express how awesome it is. Words cannot explain what a privilege it is to be able to do this," she said.
