Rauser elected as Broadwater County Sheriff

Nick Rauser will be the next Broadwater County Sheriff.

A current Captain with the Broadwater County Sheriff's Office, Rauser will take over for current Sheriff Wynn Meehan at the start of 2023. He defeated Josh Peters by a vote of 2,546 to 638 in the November 8 General Election.

A fourteen-year law enforcement veteran, Rauser said he is excited, humbled, and honored to be the next Sheriff of Broadwater County.

When he begins his new role, Rauser is hoping to apply for a Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Grant to allow him to hire another Deputy for the southern end of the county....
