Update on pre-hospital trauma life support

Three Forks Area Ambulance Service hosted Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support training this past weekend, May 6th, and 7th.

The course was provided by Montana State EMS and was funded by the Department of Transportation Grants. Emergency medical providers from all over our state and TFAA EMTs and current EMT Students attended the 2-days of classes.

Simulation in Motion Montana provides courses using high fidelity simulation mannequins along with medical clinicians and certified instructors.

Three Forks Area Ambulance Service has been given several grants to utilize this important training.

Our first SIM-MT focused on Cardiac Emergencies. Our Second SIM-MT focused on Pediatric Emergencies and our third was this past weekend focusing on TRAUMA!

TFAA is scheduling one more training with SIM-MT in June focusing on STROKES.

This training helps keep emergency medical providers on top of their skills. TFAA call volume is low, so our EMTs gain experience, confidence, and the opportunity to work as a TEAM!

All this training will benefit that person in our community that experiences a medical or traumatic event. With fast intervention and care that person will have a more positive medical outcome.

Three Forks Area Ambulance EMTs continue to train to provide the best medical care for our Community.
