Harris retires, Wood appointed Undersheriff

There is a new Undersheriff in Broadwater County.

Sheriff Nick Rauser appointed Mark Wood to replace recently retired Undersheriff Brandon Harris. Wood was sworn into the position in December.

According to Rauser, Wood enters his new position with over 34 years of experience in law enforcement.

"I am very excited to work with Undersheriff Wood. He is very knowledgeable and brings a whole new element and perspective to the office. He is very eager to learn and jump into the Undersheriff Position. The last couple of years, Undersheriff Harris was helping prepare him for the job," Rauser said.
