Lady Wolves upend Harlem, play at 11 a.m. Saturday

The Three Forks High School girls basketball team continued their season Friday afternoon with a 61-40 victory over Harlem at the Class B State Tournament in Belgrade.

Kyle Olson had a monster night with 33 points and Kendall Lynn was also in double figures with 11. Erin Welter and Paeton Ohs each had five, Lily Jones finished with three and McKenzie Feddes and Breanna Bloch each added two.

The Lady Wolves will play tomorrow in an elimination game at 11 a.m. against the loser of tonight's semifinal battle of Wolf Point and Columbus.

The Lady Wolves stared in impression fashion and took an early 11-1 lead paced by five points from Welter. Harlem would answer back and cut the lead to 12-8 midway through the quarter. Each team would score three in the next four minutes and Three Forks would take a 15-11 lead going into the second quarter.

Keaton Lynn and the Lady Wolves will play tomorrow at 11 a.m.

The Lady Wolves would once again start strong in the second and pushed the lead to 21-11 after an Olson three pointer. After a Harlem three, Olson would drain another to get the lead back to 10 at 24-14. Olson would answer again on the next Three Forks possession and her driving layup put the Wolves up 26-14 with 4:38 left in the opening half.

The Lady Wolves would dominate in the second quarter hitting eight of 11 shots and took a 35-18 lead into halftime. Olson had 17 in the opening half.

Three Forks came out strong in the second half and took a 45-20 lead after five points from Olson and a three point play from Kendall Lynn.

The Lady Wildcats would score the next seven before an old-fashioned three from Olson put the Lady Wolves back in control.
