Warmer temps on the way

It’s about to get a lot warmer in the Three Forks.

According to the National Weather Service in Great Falls, summer-like temperatures will return to Southwest Montana starting today and will likely continue into next week.

The NWS is reporting there may be some variation in temperatures with some days a bit warmer and some days a bit cooler, but highs in the plains and valleys will be in the 80’s and 90’s and the mountain highs will be in the 70’s.

The NWS is predicting the warmest upcoming days to be Saturday and Sunday with highs of 90 in Three Forks. The forecast the rest of the week for Three Forks has a high of 86 for today and 88 Thursday, 87 Friday, and 88 Monday.

The National Weather Service is also asking those with outdoor activities later this week and into this weekend to plan ahead for the warmer conditions. The NWS Heat Safety website can be found at https://www.weather.gov/safety/heat.

The NWS is also reporting the fire danger will increase with grass and fuels drying out with the warmer temperatures.
