The Three Forks Lady Wolves defeated Manhattan last week.

It was a phenomenal start to the conference season for the Three Forks High School volleyball team.

In their first home and 5B action of the season, the Lady Wolves picked up a 25-20, 17-25, 27-25 and 25-21 victory last Thursday over rival Manhattan.

"I cannot express how proud I am of this team. Many times, Manhattan went on a four to five point run on us, and we didn't fall apart; we battled right back and never gave up," said head coach Tracy Welter.

Peyton Page had a huge night for Three Forks with 16 assists, six digs, three kills and three assists. Kirstin Klompien had a well-rounded night for the Lady Wolves with seven assists, six kills, five aces, four digs and two blocks. Erin Welter also shined with 11 digs, 10 kills, one block and one ace. Macie Jensen added four aces. Kendall Lynn had five kills and three digs. Aubree Waldbillig added five digs.

"It would have been easy for us to give up when we lost a player early in the second set. It did take a little time to get back into our groove, but the kids really stepped up for this game tonight," Welter said.

The junior varsity and C team also picked up wins over the Lady Tigers.

JEFFERSON

The Lady Wolves fell in their second matchup of the week 17-25, 19-25, and 21-25 against a strong Jefferson High School team.

This week the Lady Wolves once again play at home with a September 12 game scheduled against Ennis. Three Forks will be on the road September 19 against Townsend.
