The Three Forks High School boys cross country team showed plenty of improvement at last week's Belgrade Invitational at the Gallatin County Regional Park.

Head coach Tara Forsberg said the team improved their time across the board from the season opening meet in Boulder.

Freshman Beau Johnston led the way for the team with a time of 20:51.73. Devon Potts finished with a time of 21:07.96, Jaron Berg had a time of 21:39.17, Stian Staxrud finished at 22:23.70, Aden Lehr completed the race at 22:27.36, Dean Buchholz had a time of 22:57.13 and Trace Hay finished at 23:15.45.

In the junior varsity race, Noah Hegar had a time of 23:45.15, John Ward finished at 25:44.20, and Asher Lehr ended his race with a time of 26.16.40.

On the girls side, Forsberg said Hannah Wilson lost her shoe early in the race which resulted in a drop for her, adding two girls missed the meet due to injuries and illness. Lily Jones finished with a time of 24:20.87 for Three Forks. Forsberg said this beat her time from the previous week by 2 and a half minutes. Kodee Kolberg finished with a time of 25:47.70.

"I was very happy with the meet as a whole and we now have some things to focus on this week in our training," Forsberg said.

The team was originally supposed to compete Saturday in Pony, but will instead travel to the Bozeman meet which starts at 9 a.m.

It was a great day of results for the Three Forks School Middle School cross country team. The boys had two top ten finishers with Gabe Hungerford finishing ninth in the 1.5 mile race with a time of 9:59.40, and Bryon Fanning finishing tenth with a time of 10:01.82.
