Three Forks Mayor Sean Gifford is one of three running for the position in next week's election.

Four candidates will be vying for three open seats on the Three Forks City Council. Incumbents Steve Dahl and Debra Mickelberry, as well as Erin Schattauer each filed prior to the June 17 deadline. According to Gallatin County Election Manager Casey Hayes, Three Forks resident Justin Koller is a declared write-in for a spot on the council and therefore the contest could not be called by acclamation.

Three candidates filed prior to June 17 to run for Mayor of Three Forks. Current Mayor Sean Gifford, longtime former Mayor and current Council member Gene Townsend, and Carl "Bud" Mohler Jr all filed for the position.

Ballots for the 2019 Countywide Special and Municipal General Elections were mailed to ALL active voters in Gallatin County on October 16. Return postage for ballots is prepaid for this election.

Ballots must be received no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day, November 5, in order to be counted. Postmarks cannot be accepted.

Ballots may be returned by mail or in-person at the ballot deposit locations provided on the instructions contained in the ballot packet.
