Imerys Tournament Friday, Saturday

December 11, 2019

Zach Pitcher will be a key member of the Wolves squad.

It will be a jam-packed schedule of basketball this weekend in Three Forks with 32 games over four days at the 24th annual Imerys Basketball Tournament.

The tournament scheduled for December 13 and 14 will feature eight high schools, featuring eight varsity and junior varsity games each day.

The Three Forks varsity boys are scheduled to play Huntley Project December 13 at 7 p.m. They will play Fairfield on Saturday at 7 p.m. The varsity girls will play Ennis Friday at 5:30 p.m. and Fairfield Saturday at 5:30 p.m. The varsity games will take place in the New Gym.

Kendall Lynn is a returning starter for Three Forks who will open the season at the Imerys Tournament.

The Three Forks junior varsity boys will play Friday at 1 p.m. against Ennis. The junior varsity girls will play Friday at 8:15 p.m. against Huntley Project. The junior varsity boys will play Saturday at 11:30 a.m. against Huntley Project, and the girls will play at 8:15 p.m. against Ennis.

Three Forks girls head coach Mike Sauvageau said the annual tournament is great because coaches can see many teams from around the state, teams they don't play during the year.

He also sees it as a boon for the local economy.

"It is great for the town because of all the out of town people that it brings to Three Forks for two days. Motels, restaurants, gas stations and other businesses will see people from tournament teams roaming around. Also, this tournament wouldn't be possible without the financial support Imerys has given to the school. They have helped the Three Forks schools with over $200,000 to help athletic programs along with numerous academic programs," he said.
