The Senior Center

March 18, 2020

Due to fears about the corona virus, we've been notified that we must temporarily close the Senior Center to group use such as serving meals or playing games. This closure is expected to take effect this week and last for up to four weeks. Meals on Wheels will still be prepared and delivered Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and if you wish you may call to have a meal prepared for you to pick up. We will keep you advised in this column. If you know of anyone who needs Meals on Wheels, call us or have them call us. The price is $6.00 if the person is younger than 60. For those 60 and over we ask for a donation of $4.00.

Last Wednesday there was Pinochle. Eight people played. The high scorers were Jessie Todd, Jane Walker, Harold Eisenbeis and Dorothy LeTempt. Jessie and Dorothy split the Double PInochle pot.

We are still offering three pieces of exercise equipment free to a good home. Call the Center and leave a message if you are interested.

Groups of Americans were traveling by tour bus through Holland. As they stopped at a cheese farm, a young guide led them through the process of cheese making, explaining that this cheese used goat's milk. Then she showed the group a lovely hillside where many goats were grazing. "These are the older goats, put out to pasture when they no longer produce. What do you do in America with your old goats?"

One spry old gentleman answered, "They send us on bus tours!"
