Column: Is he really pounding the desk?

Throughout my newspaper career, I have seen a little bit of everything.

A majority of it has been a positive experience, and this is what I want to be doing, but my previous job as a publisher certainly added some gray hairs.

Most of the people I dealt with were easy to work with, but I had a few that were not.

On one occasion, an elected official came into the office very upset about a letter to the editor.

He started screaming and yelling at me, and I politely kept telling him that I did not write the letter.

The madder he got, the less he listened, and at one point, he started to pound...
