There is a wonderful new addition at Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park. It is also one that came as quite the surprise to Park Manager Rhea Armstrong.

When a new flagpole was recently installed at the park, a new bat pole topper was also placed on top.

Armstrong said a new maintenance worker Brian Giordano contacted Iron Maiden Welding owner Brenda Stredwick about the project.

"He took a photo of one of my bat stickers on my wall and helped her create the flat pole topper," Armstrong said.

Unaware about the new topper until the pole went up, Armstrong was ecstatic.
