Three Forks Fly In Starts Friday

There will be fun for all ages this weekend at the 44th annual Three Forks Fly In.

The event hosted by the Montana Antique Aircraft Association is scheduled for Friday, August 6, and Saturday, August 7, at the Three Forks Airport.

According to Pat Greene, the 2021 Fly in will have a People's Choice award, and there will not be airplane judging. Green said a kiosk will be placed in front of the administration so those in attendance can vote on their favorite airplane

The Friday festivities include Young Eagle Flights from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The free flights can be signed up for by calling Lance at 406-442-8459.

A ping pong ball drop is scheduled at Saturday at 1:30 p.m. for kids age three to 13. This will be followed by flour drop and spot landing contests at 2 p.m.

Homemade breakfast carnitas from Blue Smoke Barbecue will be available for purchase Saturday morning.

The Three Forks-based food truck will be serving lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Green said the event originally started on a farm in Lewistown and was moved to Three Forks two years later.

She added in the past that there had been 50 to 60 planes at the event, and there will be antiques, classics, and more contemporary planes.
