3.1 magnitude earthquake reported near Three Forks

Several minor earthquakes were reported last week in Three Forks.

The largest was a 3.1 magnitude earthquake that was reported early Friday.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred at 12:53 a.m., five miles north of Three Forks.

The USGS had 17 reports from area residents who felt the earthquake.

A 2.3 earthquake was reported on Thursday, December 16 at 5:30 p.m., as well as several smaller occurring during the week.
