Local voters approve marijuana excise tax

Residents of Gallatin Valley voted last week to approve a 3% local-option excise tax for both medical and non-medical marijuana and marijuana products.
In results from the Gallatin County Election Department, the non-medical excise tax passed by a vote of 13,803 to 10,643. 77.49% of the voters were in favor of the excise tax for non-medical marijuana and products. 19,062 Gallatin County voted for the tax, and 5,5537 voted no.
