Three Rivers Senior Center offers variety of loanable items to help out area residents

The Three Rivers Senior Center has long been known as a gathering place for area residents.

The center also has a variety of items to assist area senior citizens.

According to Mel Hamilton, the items provided free of charge for residents to lend out include self-propelled and electric wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, and shower aids.

"We would love for people to use this. We have always had stuff like this. People donate it to us, and we turn around and lend it out. It's a huge thing, people who have had surgery always come down to borrow things," Hamilton said.

Anyone interested in borrowing something or looking at the items is welcome to call Hamilton at 406-589-7686. Hamilton said he is available anytime to help people get the equipment.

Along with the equipment, Hamilton also invited those in the Three Forks area of any age to come down and enjoy the lunches served Tuesday to Thursday at noon for a cost of $5.

Hamilton added on Wednesday, there is pinochle after lunch, and bingo after the meal on Thursday.

"We encourage people to come down and enjoy the lunch. Just call ahead, so the cook has time to prepare," he said.

The Three River Senior Center is located at 19 E. Cedar in downtown Three Forks. The hours are Tuesday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. The phone number for the center is 406-285-3235.
