Yin-Cello event this week at Sacajawea Hotel

The Sacajawea Hotel and Practice Power Yoga have partnered for what should be a memorable evening Sunday, September 18, in Three Forks with a Yin-Cello and Wine Tasting event.

The evening will begin at 4 p.m. with a 75-minute yoga class under the Ash trees at the hotel featuring the music of cellist Marley Ball of the Billings Symphony Orchestra. The wine tasting will follow this until 6:30 p.m.

According to Sacajawea Hotel owner Hillary Folkvord, the idea for the event came from Practice Power Yoga Studio owner Jen Giuttari.

Folkvord is excited about the partnership.

"I have been a member of her amazing space for almost two years, and through her great yoga instructors, they have changed my life personally. Through the last few years, we've partnered on various events at our other hotel, the RSVP Motel. Jen was recently in Walla Walla with her significant other, who happens to be our wine rep at the Sacajawea Hotel. She had the brilliant idea of combining yoga, wine, and live music at a beautiful venue," Folkvord said.

Giuttari loves a wide variety of music, including classical, especially string instruments.

"And I know Yin Yoga, which is a slow style of yoga that provides a deep stretch of our fascia, pairs very well with a cello. Additionally, Yin Yoga is known to be a very therapeutic style of yoga (instead of, say, a more athletic or vigorous style). So that, combined with class under the Ash trees and the live cellist providing 'music therapy,' if you will, I am hoping will create an environment conducive for students to unwind and fully relax - as well as a great opportunity for students to stay and connect after class, as opposed to rushing back to the busy of their lives," said Giuttari. "I've collaborated with Hillary at RSVP Motel for poolside yoga and other similar events, and I think they've all been so successful because she is quite talented in creating such a unique ambiance in her physical spaces that our students are drawn to gather there."

The cost for the evening is $35 for the Yin-Cello or $85 for the Yin-Cello and Wine Tasting.

Giuttari added the easiest way to sign-up for the event is at
