4 Wolves place at CMR Holiday Classic

The Three Forks High School Wrestling team battled the best from the Treasure State at last week's CMR Classic in Great Falls, with four Wolves placing at the prestigious two-day tournament.

Senior Levi Wagner led the way for Three Forks finishing in third at 138 pounds. Junior Cole Rogers was fourth at 120 pounds, freshman Jacob Murphy finished fifth at 103 pounds, and eighth-grader Mathias Hogue was sixth at 126 pounds.

Wagner won his first two matches by fall, the first over Gage McGillvray of Park County (5:21) and the next in 26 seconds over Jesse Reed of Wolf Point. Wagner won a 7-0 decision in the quarterfinals over Gavin Cotton of Great Falls. After falling in the semifinals, Wagner finished third with an 11-4 win over Tristian Stygles of Havre and a 4-2 win over Demteri Saliaris of Billings Senior High School.

Rogers opened the tournament with pins of Dalton Ecklund of Great Falls CMR (0:45) and Ted See of Glasgow (2:48). In the quarterfinals, Rogers won by majority decision 14-3 over Dylan Mikesell of Jefferson. After falling by a decision in the semifinals, Rogers bounced back with his fourth victory with a 13-10 decision over Ecklund. Rogers lost a heartbreaker in sudden victory to Ridge Cote in the third-place match. 

Murphy went 4-2 at the tournament picking up wins by fall over Jerimiah White Grass of Browning (0:43), Roddy Wyant of Anaconda (0:33), and Gage Hartnell of Great Falls (2:27). Murphy won in the fifth-place match by injury default over Caleb O'Shea of Helena.

Hogue had a great opening day of the tournament, winning by fall over Aiden Files of CMR (1:38), Samuel Elliott of Great Falls High School (4:50), and Isaiah Christensen of Gallatin High School (1:12).  

Brummie Boggus went 3-2 at the tournament at 113 pounds, winning by fall over Chance Rohrback of Great Falls CMR (0:22), Creighton Teeters of Forsyth (0:30), and Isaac Mckamey of Great Falls CMR (1:44).

Wrestling at 145 pounds, Thomas Rowan had one victory, getting a pin over Carter Simpson of Anaconda (1:26).

Dylan Kamps also had a win for the Wolves, picking up a win by fall at 152 pounds over Hunter Rowan of Belgrade (5:41).

Josiah Gonzalez opened the tournament with a pin over Trey Revis of Valier (0:39).
