A total of five candidates have filed to run for two open seats on the Three Forks School Board in the upcoming May 2 election.
The candidates running for the two three-year terms are Emily Kennedy, Brooke Pestel, Lori Sayers, Travis Short, and Lori Van Vleet.
A candidate forum for the School Board is scheduled for Thursday, August 13, at 7 p.m.
Local voters will also be able to get information on a proposed levy increase for the Three Forks School District. The district is hosting an Open House on August 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. that will include more information about the levy. The Open House will also include:
• A playground dedication.
• K-12 art displays.
• An elementary dance party.
• Information about AP and Dual Credit Courses.
The election will be by mail ballot only. Ballots will be mailed to active registered voters on April 14 and must be returned by 8 p.m. on May 2. Ballots can be sent back or returned to the Gallatin County Election Department. Ballot deposit locations can be found on http://www.MyVoterPageMT.com. (under the Polling Places tab).
