Three Forks golfers advance to State Tournament in Shelby

With a fourth-place finish at last week's Divisional Tournament in Anaconda, the Three Forks High School Girls' Golf team qualified for the state tournament this week in Shelby.

The boys' team just missed out on qualifying with a fifth-place finish.

The divisional round had perfect weather and a course in great shape. We had a few kids take advantage of both, with Ari Judd shooting a career-low 87 and taking fourth. Lydia Kluin also finished inside the top 15, tying for 12th, which earned her All-Conference honors as well as Ari," Head Coach Aaron Harkins said.

Along with Judd and Kluin, Paige Lien, Kennedy Rogers, and Claire Van Vleet will head to this week's season-ending tournament.

Harkins said the competition was fierce on the boys' side as the top ten finishers were all under 80.

"We had Hunter Feddes shoot in the low 90s as well as a couple of seniors in Morgan Karn and Dylan Kamps fire 93's. This led the boys' team to a fifth-place finish, just missing out on the top four, which would make it to state. We are incredibly proud of both teams," said Harkins. "Unfortunately, the season is over for the boys, and as for the girls, we are hoping to get back to the lower 400s as a team at the state tourney. The weather looks great, so hoping for some great scores as well."
