At a Wildfire Media Day last week, Gallatin County Undersheriff Jeremy Kopp discussed the agencies' role during the fire season.

Kopp said the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office's primary focus is life preservation and life safety, adding they have a great relationship with the Department of Emergency Services (DES), state and federal fire agencies, something they are very intentional about.

"You want that close collaboration and coordination so that you are working most effectively," Kopp said.
