Column: The joys of live music, especially closer to home

A couple of weeks ago, on a Thursday, I had forgotten that it was the opening day of Headwaters Country Jam and made the mistake of traveling down Montana Highway 2 in the late afternoon.

It was chaos as I tried to patiently wait for the long line of RVs to enter the site. While it was the opening day, there was already quite a crowd setting up their campsites, and numerous games of cornhole were already underway.
