Montana Warrior-Run Gallatin Valley set for Saturday, August 19

The Montana Warrior Run-Gallatin Valley, a fundraiser for Impact Montana, is scheduled for Saturday, August 19, at Veterans Park in Three Forks.

Along with 10K, 5K, and 1 Mile events, this 2023 Warrior-Run Gallatin Valley will also feature a Trifecta for those wanting to participate in all three races. The race schedule will start with the 10K at 8:30 a.m., the 5K at 10 a.m., and the 1 Mile at 11:15 a.m.

This year’s event prices are $40 for the Trifecta, $35 for the 10K, $30 for the 5K, and $25 for the 1 Mile.

Online registration is available at https://runsignup.com/Race/MT/ThreeForks/MontanaWarriorRunGallatinValley. Same-day registration will be open until 8 a.m.

According to race organizer Parker Taylor, the event mirrors other Warrior-Run events across the Treasure State. Before the inaugural race in 2021, Taylor discussed the event’s origins.

Taylor is friends with Impact Montana’s event coordinator, who asked him and another friend if they wanted to host one in the Gallatin Valley.

“We chose Three Forks because there are so many events in Bozeman already, plus the city is so much easier to work with. This model is now being adopted by Impact Montana as a way to bring attention to smaller communities while avoiding some of the red tape that goes along with putting on events in the bigger towns,” he said.

According to Parker, Impact Montana’s mission is to improve people’s lives through six “thrive factors” (physical, financial, social, career, spiritual, and family) to hopefully prevent issues from coming up.

The chance to give back to the veteran community is significant to Taylor.

“I have been blessed in my life with good health and a solid support system, and hosting this event is my way to help my brothers and sisters in arms who haven’t been quite as fortunate. We hear a lot about veteran suicide and mental health issues, and I have seen the effects of both,” he said.
