3 finish in top 20 at Bob Firman Invite

The Three Forks High School Cross Country team rose to the occasion with fantastic results at last week's Bob Firman Invitational in Boise.

The Wolves had three runners finish in the top 20 of the Varsity 2 Division at the two-day invite that featured 158 high schools from seven states.

In the boys' race, Bryon Fanning finished in 16th place out of 316 runners with a time of 16:57.4, and Cass Violett had an incredible race, finishing in 17th with a PR of 17:00.4. Micah Gather finished with a time of 19:07.1, and Rhett Violett finished at 20:48.5.

Teegan Gifford led the Lady Wolves, finishing 18th out of 268 runners with a PR of 20:53.9. Grace Kluin finished at 23:13.0, and Dawson Petersen had a time of 26:24.6.

"Boise was great. Cass and Teegan had fantastic runs. It was fun seeing three of our runners in the top 20," Head Coach Tara Forsberg said.

Three Forks also had runners compete in the junior varsity division at last Saturday's Mountain West Invite in Missoula.

Forsberg said the runners ran consistent races to their usual times, but not having the whole team together and seeing them compete was tough.

In the boys' race, Christopher Harmon led the way with a finish at 19:43.0, and Kiai Ingraham finished at 19:55.1. Lucas Petersen had a time of 22:53.3, Jace Wiseman finished at 24:29.2, and Jacoby Berg had a time of 24:45.5.

In the girls' race, Pailey Lampers finished at 29:13.4, and Isabella Meehan had a time of 30:13.0.

Three Forks will next compete on September 29 when they host the Headwaters Invite, with the first race starting at 9 a.m.

Forsberg said she is looking forward to the home meet and having the entire team back together this week.
