WCFD Pancake Breakfast This week

In 1990, the Willow Creek Fire Department hosted a pancake breakfast to raise money for a local family who had lost their home in a fire. Now an annual event, the annual Pancake Breakfast has served as a way to unite community members and is an important fundraiser for the department.

This year's Fireman's Breakfast is scheduled for Sunday, October 8, at the Fire Hall at 107 Main Street in Willow Creek. The cost is $5 a plate, and the breakfast will include pancakes, French toast, eggs, coffee, orange juice, and ham and maple sausage from Daniel's Meats.

According to Camille Bjorndal, the breakfast in 1990 proved to be a huge success and produced a great turnout, so they decided to do it the following year, this time with the proceeds going directly to the department.

"This year will be the 33rd annual Willow Creek Fireman's breakfast, a now important tradition bringing the community together from the oldest town members - most of whom have served on the department at some point - to new young families just moving into the area," Bjorndal said.
