Thanksgiving Food Drive Set for Halloween

Headwaters Area Food Bank teams up with Three Forks Schools and Stageline Pizza

Three Forks Schools' new VIP (Volunteering In Packs) Coalition together with Headwaters Area Food Bank and Stageline Pizza are hoping to have a record-breaking food drive on Halloween this year.

Trick-Or-Treat So Kids Can Eat, as the drive has been named, will be a joint effort to help the local food bank put together their annual Thanksgiving baskets.

Students have been challenged to put teams of 3-5 students together to collect food around town on Halloween. Fall sports teams will be competing to see who can collect the most food. Collection bins will be outside Stageline Pizza all day on Halloween and anyone can donate at that location.

Community members who want to participate can scan the pick-up QR code, enter their address, and post the logo so teams can see it easily to know to collect donated food. When teams collect the food, they will collect the logo as well. If you can't scan the code, post the logo so teams know you have a donation. You can use the logo accompanying the article or print the one linked on the pick-up form.

HAFB's requested items include: turkeys, turkey breasts, hams, canned yams or sweet potatoes, stuffing mix, crispy fried onions, pie crust, Jell-O, canned pineapple, and turkey gravy mix.

If you want to donate but live out of town, drop your items in the bin of your choice at Stageline Pizza. Bins will be out all day on Halloween, including during the annual Trick-or-Treat Main Street event. And of course donations can be dropped directly at the Headwaters Area Food Bank.

All participating students on a registered team will get an ice cream coupon, and the winning teams win pizza donated by Stageline Pizza. They will also receive a button with the drive's logo on it to distinguish them as team members.
